Paul Luvera receives Presidential Award from Washington State Association for Justice
Lita Barnett Luvera receives Distinguished Alumni Award from Gonzaga University
On Thursday, October 16, 2008 Gonzaga University presented its 2008 Gonzaga University Distinguished Alumni Awards to partner Lita Barnett Luvera. A graduate of Gonzaga Law School in 1977, Lita was raised at the entrance to Mt Rainier National Park where her parents owned and operated The Gateway Inn, a family run resort. In addition to her law work as a partner in the law firm, Lita has been involved in supporting The Forgotten Children’s Fund, Special Olympics, Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Bailey-Boushay House and the Crystal Judson Family Justice Center. She has volunteered for the Center for Women and Democracy at the University of Washington.
Washington Law and Politics names three Luvera Law Firm partners as among best in state
Washington Law & Politics has named three of the firm members to their list of the top 100 lawyers in the state of Washington. Ralph Brindley, Joel Cunningham and Paul Luvera were selected. Two firm members, Paul Luvera and Joel Cunningham were listed in the top ten lawyers in the entire state. Luvera has been listed as one of the top 100 lawyers in the state every year since the magazine began surveying lawyers about their choice for the list. More than 18,000 lawyers are surveyed to nominate the top 100 lawyers in the state.
Ralph Brindley selected as American Board of Trial Advocates President
Ralph Brindley was recently honored as Plaintiff’s Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Association (WDTL) at its annual awards meeting. The defense bar recognizes one outstanding plaintiff’s attorney in the state every year, who exemplifies excellence in the profession and consistently serves as a strong advocate and worthy opponent. Ralph was presented with the award before a crowd of judges and attorneys, after an introduction lauding his 35 years of professionalism and accomplishments. We are proud of our partner Ralph and congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.

Paul Luvera Honored for Selection in the Hall of Fame
Paul Luvera has been selected by the American Trial Lawyers Association for membership in the 2010 Hall of Fame, He was one of only five other lawyers throughout the United States who was selected for the honor. Five hundred people were in attendance for the induction ceremony held in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the only lawyer ever selected from the State of Washington. He joins such other lawyers as Gerry Spence, Melvin Belli and Johnnie Cochran. The honor is given to extraordinary trial lawyers who have exceeded the expectations of the public and their peers by clearly establishing themselves, through their practice, as true champtions and crusaders for American justice.

Paul Luvera, Joel Cunningham and Ralph Brindley were selected for inclusion in the list of the top one hundred lawyers in the State of Washington. Paul Luvera was the number one point getter among all one hundred lawyers in the selection process and Joel Cunningham was selected for inclusion in the top ten list. Contaminated Hospital Supplies Infect Premature Baby
Triad Group, Inc., a Wisconsin manufacturer of hospital supplies, was recently shut down by the FDA for selling products contaminated with potentially deadly bacteria, b. cereus, a cousin to anthrax. Our Firm has been informed by Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, Washington that one of our clients, a premature infant, contracted a severe brain infection as a result of contaminated alcohol wipes manufactured by Triad. We have brought a lawsuit against Triad and others on behalf of the infant and his family. This tragedy has now been reported in national and international news.
More and more health care providers are discovering that when one of their patients is injured, the cause is a defective device or supplies. We have investigated and successfully pursued a number of these cases over the years.
